The 2020 Bonner County Fair will be held Wednesday, August 19 - Saturday, August 22, 2020! The fair opens at 10:00 am Wednesday and will include a Thursday night "Summer Nights" concert (band to be announced in early spring!), Challenge of Champions Bull Riding on Friday, and the Demolition Derby on Saturday. Tickets will be available for main events in June.
The 4-H Fair Horse Show will be held Saturday, July 18 - Sunday, July 19, 2020. The fair policies are set by a seven-member volunteer board that meets traditionally the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m., at the Bonner County Fair Office, as required by Idaho Code. The Fair Board is a governing board under the direction of the Bonner County Commissioners. The policies are administered by the Fair Director. The meetings are open to the public. To be placed on the agenda, call the Fair Office (208) 263-8414 at least one week prior to the meeting. Presentations to Fair Board are limited to three minutes. A response will be mailed, within seven working days following the meeting. Funding of the Bonner County Fair is partly funded from property tax funds proportioned by the Bonner County Treasurer and Fairgrounds Rentals. All booking is done by the Fair Director. The actual workings of the Fair are done by many volunteer superintendents under direction of the Fair Director and Extension Office Personnel.
A training session for superintendents is held Thursday, August 13th prior to the fair at 1:30 p.m. At this time, Fair Rules and Procedures are reviewed and information on new policies will be presented. A lunch voucher will be given to each Superintendent to redeem at one of the Food Booth Vendors. Judges of exhibits and staff are employed by the Fair. The Bonner County Fair Book is edited by the Fair Office Manager and available prior to July 1st.
A Daily Parking Fee of $3.00 per car, per day will be charged at the gates. You may purchase a Week Parking Pass prior to opening day of the Fair for $10.00. Your Parking Pass must be displayed in the window of your vehicle and be visible. If not visible, your vehicle will be towed at your expense. During Fair, all vehicles must have a Parking Pass to enter the Fairgrounds! Half the monies collected go towards scholarships and the other half to assist with High School Programs in Bonner County.
