The Bonner County Fair is holding a Best Beard & Mustache Contest on Friday, August 20, 5:00 PM at the Activity Tent Stage during Fair Week! Pre-Registration must be turned in at the Fair Office by 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 19th. This contest is open to all ages - and both men & women (see below)!

CATEGORIES FOR ENTRY:

1. FULL BEARD (Under 6 Inches): Full beard as it grows naturally, the more natural the better. The mustache may not be highlighted & the beard may not be turned under at the bottom. Length may not exceed 6” when measured from the bottom of the lower lip.

2. FULL BEARD (6 Inches or More): Full beard as it grows, left natural, the more natural the better! The mustache may not be highlighted. Unlimited length, must be over 6" when measured from the bottom of the lower lip.

3. DAPPER STACHE (Styled Mustache): Any length, any style. Styling aids permitted.

4. COUPLES: Any pairing of people can compete. Must have a theme to the couple. Grab a partner and have fun! Styling aids and props/costumes permitted.

5. BUILD-A-BEARD: The Build-A-Beard category is wide-open, can be female or male. Create the most imaginative and fantastic beards and/or mustaches you can. The choice of materials is completely up to you. The more creative, the better! Beards or mustaches are accepted in this category.

6. GRAND CHAMPION: Selected by the judges!

The contest will be judged by local barber shop professionals. The Judge's decision is FINAL. Prizes will be awarded to the top in each category!

Pre-Register at the Fair Office by Wednesday, August 19th!

This event will host our hometown cooks competing against each other for the title of "Best Mac 'N Cheese!"

Competition is limited to the first 10 contestants. Registration must be submitted to the Fair Office by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021. No entry fee required!

CONTEST RULES

Deadline to Register is 5:00 PM Weds, August 19th
All ingredients must be pre-cooked prior to the event
Mac 'N Cheese must come ready to eat
Mac 'N Cheese must be made from scratch. Commercial mixes or canned items are not permitted
Cooks will be provided with small serving cups & spoons
Cooks will receive one small table & access to power
All table decor & other necessities are to be provided by cooks
Each contestant is responsible for removing all items they brought related to their entry in the contest
Judging will begin at 12:35 PM. Winners will be announced between 12:45 PM- 1:15 PM. All dishes must be ready for judging
Mac 'N Cheese will be judged based on originality (10 points), texture (20 points), color (10 points), taste (30 points), cheesy-ness (10 points). Top score would be 80 points. .
Designated judges will be assigned before the contest. Following the contest, participants will be provided small serving cups & spoons to share what's remaining with attendees.

9th Annual Digital Camera Shootout Photo Contest

Does photography catch your eye? Enter the 8th Annual Digital Camera Shootout Photo Contest for the 2021 Bonner County Fair!

9TH ANNUAL DIGITAL CAMERA SHOOTOUT PHOTO CONTEST!
Friday, August 20th, 2021 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Check in at the Fair Office at 10 AM.
Available to ages 15 & Older

All participants will receive the same two themes. Each person can enter four photos this year. Two photos are allowed for each of the two themes.

PRIZES:
$50 Prize for Best Shootout Award
$25 Prize for 2nd Place Overall
$15 Prize for 3rd Place Overall

Rules: Contestants must pre-register by Thursday, August 19th, 2021 by picking up a contest entry form from the Fair Office. Check-In by 10 AM on Friday, August 20th, 2021 and make sure you have your digital camera with you. Upon Check-In, contestants will receive instructions and their two predetermined themes for the contest. Contestants must email their final photos to the Fair Office by 1pm, to: fairgrounds@bonnercountyid.gov.

Equipment Required: Contestants must have their own Digital Cameras. Contestants must use their own computer to email photos. the fair office computers will not be available to use this year.

Other Rules: Digital alterations and cropping WILL be allowed in. No tripods will be allowed. Tripods can be a trip hazard, so they are not permitted for this contest. All photos will become the property of the Bonner County Fair.

Judging & Voting: Contestants must email their photos to fairgrounds@bonnercountyid.gov for judging. Photos will be uploaded to the Fair's Facebook page for voting. The public will have the opportunity to vote on Facebook for a five hour window on Saturday, August 21st, 2021 from 10 AM - 3 PM, by hitting "LIKE" on the photo that is their favorite. Only one vote will be allowed per person for each theme.

Skillet Throwing Contest

Open to men and women ages 18+, all participants must pre-register! Sign-up in the Fair Office by Friday, August 20h, 2021 by 5 PM! Limited to 10 entries per age class, per gender.

RULES:

Must fill out sign-up form by Friday August 20th, by 5 PM
One throw per person
Throw must be straight and underhand
Contestants must wait for cue from the judges to throw
Distance off-center will be subtracted from the distance thrown. Measurements are taken from where the skillet first lands.
Crossing the Foul Line will result in disqualification
In the event of a tie, a throw-off of 1st Place Winners for each age group will be done for the Grand Champion. Two throws per person, best of two.

The Bonner County Fair is holding its first ever Best Mullet Contest on August 21, 2021 at the Activity Tent Stage during Fair Week! Pre-registration must be turned into the Fair Office by 5pm on Friday, August 20th. This contest is open to all ages - and both men & women!

CATEGORIES FOR ENTRY:
1. Men's 18+ Best Mullet
2. Women's 18+ Best Mullet
3. Co-Ed 17 & Under Best Mullet
4. Best Fake Mullet
5. Overall Best Mullet

RULES:
All mullets must be grown by the participant themselves, no fake hair, wigs, extensions, or artificial hair will be accepted into the categories listed above, with the exception of the Best Fake Mullet category.

The contest will be judged by a hair professional or a member of the fairground's staff.

Mullets will be judged on the following:

Volume - Thickness and fullness of the mullet
Length - how long in inches your mullet is
Quality - how close is your hair to the "actual mullet look"
Style - how the hair is cut and arranged
Dazzle - does your hair have any unique characteristics

Diaper Derby Contest

Do you have a baby under the age of 9 months? Can they crawl? If so, enter them into the Diaper Derby Contest!

The Bonner County Fair is holding its first ever Diaper Derby Contest on Saturday, August 21! Meet at the lawn by the Outdoor Arena during Fair Week! Pre-registration must be turned into the Fair Office by 5pm on Friday, August 20. This contest is open to all children under the ages of 9 months.

The fastest babies in Bonner County will start at one end of our "racetrack" and crawl to the finish line. Parents can use keys, toys, or other items to attract their crawler, but may not reach over the finish line to grab them. If your baby takes their first steps, it is automatic disqualification.

Diaper Derby Rules:

Contestants must be under the age of 9 months
All contestants will crawl on their hands and knees (or scoot) the entire length of the race
If a contestant walks at anytime during the race, the contestant will be disqualified
Two people will be allowed at the "racetrack", one at the start line (the Launcher) and one at the finish line (the Caller)
The Caller can use toys, keys, etc. to draw the baby near the finish line
