Bonner County Fair Board Information

The Bonner County Fair Board meets the second Monday of each month at 5:30 pm.
Agenda items must be received one week prior to the regular scheduled monthly meeting.
The Fair Board consists of seven-members.

If interested in being considered to be on the Fair Board, interested parties must write a letter of interest to the Bonner County Commissioners in October of the year prior to term ending.

Jody Russell - Vice Chairman

Jody Russell is very active at the fairgrounds. She is the co-coordinator for the Pre-Fair. She is the Head Barn Superintendent and also a Beef Superintendent. Jody has been a member of the Market Animal Livestock Committee and 4-H Horse Leaders Council. She is very involved in all the activities on the fairgrounds. Jody is dedicated to educating the community as to the importance of Agriculture in our community.

Gail Curless

Gail has served on the board for almost two decades, and is very involved with all events, she is a 4-H leader and started the Ranch Sorting at the fairgrounds. Gail loves working in the beef barn and helping with Ranch Sorting during the annual fair. Gail also announces the beef show. Gail and her husband Randy are static superintendents and assist wherever needed.
Laya Bleckwenn

Laya Bleckwenn

Laya Bleckwenn is a 4th generation resident of Bonner County. She was an active 4-H member in her youth and continued into adulthood as a 4-H project leader. Laya’s passion is horses and using them in a variety of disciplines, many of which take place at the Fairgrounds. Along with serving on the Fair Board, Laya is excited to also serve on the Rodeo Committee. She feels that serving in both of these capacities is an opportunity to help promote, educate, and preserve the agricultural heritage of the community, and way of life.

There was no quorum for the September 2022 Fair Board Meeting.
Members present: Jody Russell, Elaine Linscott, and Laya Bleckwenn
Members absent: Gail Curless, Marj Tilley and Bruce Hollett: Eddie Gordon did advise Jody that he would not be in attendance.
